What is Team Fink?
Team Fink, quite simply, is a family.  A Mommy and a Daddy, Three daughters and a son.  We're active in our neighborhood, church, school, and community.

As we have a detailed list of 10 family values framed in our living room, our family motto can be boiled down to "doing right, loving goodness and walking humbly with the Lord."  This is a verse taken from the Bible, Micah 6:8.  When practiced, it is as powerful as it is simple.

The Team Fink name came from the Daddy, as he follows sports and fitness and has seen the trend in "team + name" utilized by athletes in their intense training camps and sporting events.  As Team Fink hasn't entered a sporting event as a team, (yet) we do view the raising of our kids and growing of our family as a unique kind of training camp.

The Books
The books were basically created out of necessity.  At the time, Daddy was a frequent business traveler.  While off on business trips, and upon returning home, our oldest daughter (then ages 3-4) was extremely inquisitive about what her Dad was doing while he was gone.  Simple answers like "I was on a business trip" or "A customer needed some help" only added more questions, not any answers.  Amazingly, there were no books published that gave a simple synopsis of a business trip that could be shared with a child, or any kid of any age, for that matter.  So we created our own.

Over time, friends and family saw the book and urged us to get it published.  We looked into it, but weren't really interested as it didn't seem worth our time, as basically all of the money earned in a book sale seemed to go everywhere, but to the person who created the book!  So we did nothing, until we created our second book, for our son.

I Want You to Know, Son was not really a book.  It was a tool.  This book was again created out of necessity, as we realized sales managers are always listed in the top ten most dangerous professions.  We wanted to highlight several key challenges our son would face while growing, in case the "odds" ever caught up with Daddy.

Understanding the immense pressure and mixed signals boys receive on "how to be men" combined with the dangers of constant travel, we created a book, that would discuss life's challenges, for our son.  The book would address most of the difficult challenges a boy will struggle with while growing into a young man.  This book is extremely sentimental, and hit a powerful cord with many of our friends and relatives whom read it.

Observing the good that could be done with now two books, we basically threw the idea of book selling & profits out the window, and just looked for a way to get the books published in hopes that we could help other families of similar beliefs.

To date, two books have been published, and two more are planned.  In the end, we plan on having a book for each of our children, addressing topics which they want to learn about or could be useful in helping that child grow and understand who they are and why they are here.
